This course provides a complete working knowledge of the Line Operations Safety Audit (LOSA) methodology as codified in ICAO Doc 9803 AN/761 (First Edition, 2002).

LOSA is an organisational safety strategy that uses trained observers on the flight deck jump seat during normal, routine flights to collect data on how crews manage threats, errors and undesired aircraft states.

Because the data is collected under strict confidentiality and no-jeopardy conditions, LOSA produces a true behavioural baseline of line operations — what crews actually do, not what they do when being checked.
