The Center for Disease Control (CDC) estimates that 22 million workers are exposed to potentially damaging noise at work each year. Whether you work at a sports venue, on a tarmac, or operate a jackhammer—hearing loss is preventable.

Occupational noise, or industrial noise, is a term used in occupational safety and health, as sustained exposure to excessive noise can cause permanent hearing damage.

This course provides employees and employers with a thorough understanding of:

    • the physical characteristics and categories of noise,
    • the body’s reaction to noise,
    • hearing conservation techniques, and
    • measuring and evaluating methods.
