This program is designed for operation managers, supervisors, and workers who handle machinery in industries like manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, construction, property management, transportation, and retail services.
According to OSHA, poor machine guarding leads to about “18,000 amputations, lacerations, crushing injuries, abrasions, and over 800 deaths every single year.”
This amounts to approximately 2 injuries every hour and 2 deaths every day, because companies and workers fail to practice proper guarding techniques.
In this course, we’ll actively take a step together towards reducing these alarming numbers by looking at OSHA requirements for machine guarding, why machine guards are important, and the different types of machine safeguards.
This interactive course will provide you with an understanding of the responsibilities of a machine operator, machine guarding methods, inspections, maintenance, and site safety training, as well as the common hazards of working with different machines like lathes, conveyor belts, and metal stamping machines.
Learners will get an understanding of the common injuries related to working with these machines, workplace standards, machine areas, motions and actions, nip point hazards, awareness barriers, and the different types of machine safety devices.
